Maryland’s Parks: One of Maryland’s Better Ideas
January 26, 2010, 9-1 p.m.
West Miller Office Building
11 Bladen Street, Annapolis, MD
This 1000 Friends of Maryland event will be an opportunity for all of us to hear from people who know parks, and will discuss the value they bring to our state. State Senator Thomas M. Middleton will open the discussion on the importance of parks in Maryland. In the panel discussions, we will address the impact parks have on healthy lifestyles, community sustainability, and the different roles of national, state, and local parks. We will also cover the recommendations from the 2009 Land Preservation Parks and Recreation Plan.
There is no cost to attend, but we ask that you please RSVP by January 18th to Vhustead@atlanticbb.net.
Please park at the Naval Academy Stadium lot and take the free Annapolis Transit shuttle to reach the meeting — they operate approximately every 15 minutes. For more information on the shuttle, please click here.
