He has worked in community practice over 10 years and is currently a Faculty Field Instructor at the UMBSSW. In 2008, Lane presented on best practices for community organization. To encourage teacher, and thus student use of the schoolyard habitats, and to promote idea and model sharing, Parks & People will host a Habitat Tour during the summer for teachers. The tour will be open to a maximum of 45 teachers will be 2.5 hours dedicated to touring the schoolyard habitats and a Baltimore City Public School certified Maryland Green School. During the tour portion, each participating teacher will be asked to share an activity they implemented with their students in their schoolyard habitat. WORKSHOP ANNOUNCEMENT On Tuesday, June 15th, a workshop on the new Maryland Environmental Site Design (ESD) requirements will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Annapolis library, 1410 West Street. The workshop will be presented by Richard Klein and Bruce Gilmore (see biographies below). There is a $50 registration fee which MUST be paid in advance.
