Baltimore Green Week

THANK YOU TO ALL SPONSORS OF THE 9th ANNUAL BALTIMORE GREEN WEEK:

Baltimore City Recreation & Parks – Baltimore Green Maps – Chipotle Mexican Grill – Constellation Foundation – Lorenz, Inc. – MTA –  The ASSOCIATED – Urbanite Magazine – Waste Neutral Group  and 89.7 WTMD

WHAT IS IT?
Each April, as Earth Day nears, BGW hosts Baltimore Green Week, a week-long series of programs focused on promoting environmental awareness and best sustainable practices in and around Baltimore.  In an effort to highlight local resources, BGW partners with local businesses, organizations, and individuals who work to provide earth friendly and sustainable products and services to our community. The series offers the public a variety of educational workshops, lectures, films, tours, and hands-on projects where they have the chance to take part in discussions and begin offering solutions surrounding issues such as climate change, sustainable food and agriculture, water conservation, and energy efficiency within the home.

This series kicks off with EcoFest, a community celebration and outdoor festival.  EcoFest is held each year in Druid Hill Park and is host to an all local line-up of musicians, food vendors, and nearly 100 local vendors and exhibitors who share our vision for a greener Baltimore.  Attendees are also encouraged to take part in the free yoga classes, bike rides, kid’s nature play space, and other workshops and activities throughout the day.

BGW encourages community members to consider participating in this year’s Baltimore Green Week as volunteers, donors, program coordinators or program partners.  This opportunity is open to anyone who has an interest in the environment and the time to coordinate and help promote the series.  Students, teachers, businesses, non-profits, government agencies and activists are welcome.
