Sustainable Speaker Series
Michael Klare, author of The Race For What’s Left
Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 7 PM
Enoch Pratt Free Library, Central Branch
400 Cathedral Street, Baltimore, MD
The world is facing an unprecedented crisis of resource depletion that encompasses shortages of oil and coal, copper and cobalt, water and arable land. With all of the Earth’s accessible areas already being exploited, the desperate hunt for supplies has now reached the final frontiers. The Race for What’s Left explores the environmental risks and territorial disputes of resource extraction and argues that the only way out is to alter our consumption patterns altogether, a crucial task that will be the greatest challenge of the coming century. For more information, visit our Sustainable Speaker Series page.
The Sustainable Speaker Series is presented in partnership with the Enoch Pratt Free Library.
