It’s Earth Day! Friday, April 22nd

Continue your Green Week activities with:
Process of Peace

Towson Arts Collective, 406 York Road, Lower Level, Towson, MD 21204

6-8 p.m.

Towson ARTS Collective will hold the culminating activity for Baltimore Green Week with a reception of the art exhibit, Process of Peace, on April 22 from 6-8pm.  This exhibition asks artists to create artwork that visualize their personal process of peace, what they do to maintain an active movement toward peace, and how this relates to their creative endeavors.

    “Localize it” with Baltimore Free Farm in Hampden, discuss the “swimmable harbor” with Baltimore Green Forum, plant a vertical garden at Kennedy Kreiger, or unplug at the Irvine Nature Center’s Earth Day Celebration. It’s a beautiful day to check out Baltimore Green Works and some of our Green Week events.

    -Localize It! A fair to celebrate locavore living. Be a judge in the Chili Brew Contest! 12-6 pm on Ash Street in Hampden
    -Vertical Garden, Baltimore Contained works with Loyola Students to complete the garden installation at Kennedy Krieger from 2-4 pm
    -Baltimore Green Forum talks to BioHabitats and Blue Water Baltimore about cleaning up the harbor, 4-6:30 pm at Maryland Presbyterian Church

    Swimmable, Fishable Harbor?

    The EPA has thrown the gauntlet and wants the Harbor and our National Treasure, the Chesapeake Bay, to be cleaned up by 2020.  The Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore invites YOU to be a part of the discussion on February 5th, as national leaders talk about what has (and potentially has not) worked in the past and suggest ways for Baltimore to help make this happen.  Join in on the work group discussion in the afternoon and be sure to visit with one of the many local organizations represented who are working hard to help the cause.

    Cylburn Arboretum Poinsettia Sale!

    The annual Amaryllis, Poinsettia and Greens sale will be held in the Cylburn Greenhouses during the weekend of December 10-12.   The doors will open at 10 a.m. and will close at 2 p.m.   Greens, wreaths, amaryllis, paper whites, and poinsettias will be available.
