History

In October of 2008, Baltimore Green Works (formerly, Baltimore Green Week, Inc.) switched its name and its focus to include the other 51 weeks in the year!

In 2004 Baltimore Green Works began by putting on the first Baltimore Green Week event series drawing over 500 attendees throughout the week. Since then, Baltimore Green Works has built on that success with a draw of over 250 vendors, exhibitors, artists, musicians and speakers in addition to our 5000+ participants throughout the week in 2008! Each year, as we reach out to more of our local community, we are able to connect Maryland’s residents and business organizations with sustainable options and opportunity for the products, services and education available.

Baltimore Green Works is a community organization that is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The Board provides direction to a diverse and dedicated group of volunteers, staff and interns who work together to help build a cleaner, more sustainable community.

Our goals are to help:

  • Promote a sustainable lifestyle in the City of Baltimore and the State of Maryland,
  • Provide platforms for education and dialog for diverse local groups and individuals with an interest in the long-term viability of the region’s environment, society and economy,
  • Collaborate with regional professional associations, citizens groups and government agencies to produce issue-oriented forums regarding a sustainable lifestyle.
